ICC T20 World Cup 2012: Wright steers England to victory

Over: 18.5 I Score: 149/4 

England defeated New Zealand by six wickets in their Group 1 Super Eight cricket match of the World Twenty20. Luke scored 76 runs. 

Over: 15 I Score: 111/2 

England did not lose any wicket in the five overs as Luke Wright and Eoin Morgan stitched up a good partnership to put England in a good position in chase of 148 runs. Luke Wright reaches his half century with a massive Six of Tim Southee over mid-wicket. 

Over: 10 I Score: 60/2 

Nathan McCullum got the wicket of dangerous Alex Hales for for 22 runs but England managed to score 30 runs in the five overs going at a very steady rate. Eoin Morgan and Luke Wright were at the crease after 10 overs. 

Over: 5 I Score: 30/1

Chasing a total of 148 England reached 30 for the loss of one wicket. Daniel Vettori got the wicket of Craig Kieswetter who scored 4 runs from 14 balls. Alex Hales one the other hand looked in good form cracking three boundaries of Tim Southee’s second over. Luke Wright was in the middle with Hales after 5 overs.

New Zealand managed to score 148 runs for the loss of six wickets. James Franklin scored a half century. For England, Steven Finn took three wickets. 

Over: 16.2 I Score: 107/5

Finn to Ross Taylor, out Caught by Hales!! Ross Taylor c Hales b Finn 22(23) [4s-2]. Taylor moves to the off side and Finn bowls a short delivery outside off, it comes on sluggishly to Taylor who attempts to muscle the pull, he miscues it and does not achieve the distance, holes out to Hales at deep mid wicket.

Briggs to Williamson, out Caught by Kieswetter!! Briggs gets a wicket at a crucial time. He bowls this delivery a bit slower through the air and lands it on a good length, it spins away a touch as Williamson is rooted to the crease, he attempts to cut it and gets a faint outside edge that is snapped up by the keeper. Williamson c Kieswetter b Briggs 17(23) [4s-1]

Over: 7 I Score: 42/3

Swann struck in his first over. Trouble mounted for Kiwis. Nicol fell to Swann. Tossed up outside off, swept it to deep square leg.

The joy, however, was short lived. Finn hurt New Zealand again. In the fourth ball of the over, McCullum charged down again and slapped a short ball outside off. Managed to get an outside edge that went to Wright at third man.

Positive approach from Brendon McCullum. Scored back-to-back boundaries off Briggs. First towards long off. Followed it up with another to long on.

Finn drew the first blood. He trapped Guptill in front of the wicket as early as the second over.

Over: 1 I Score: 6/0

Danny Briggs, who is playing his second T20I, opened the bowling for England. Rob Nicol and Martin Guptill opened for New Zealand. Guptill found their first four in the fifth ball. A flighted delivery from Briggs, Guptill walked down the track and punched it towards long on fence.
