NEET-PG records over 38,000 online registrations in first 24 hours


NEW DELHI: Over 38,000 candidates have completed their online registration and scheduling process within the first 24 hours of opening the registration window for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG). The online registration started on Thursday and will continue till November 12, 2012.

A new qualifying-cum-entrance examination notified under the provisions of Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, the NEET-PG will be the single, mandatory test for admission to postgraduate medical courses starting from the academic year 2013-14. Conducted by the National Board of Examinations ( NBE) in partnership with Prometric, the first computer-based NEET-PG will be administered over 10 days between November 23 and December 6, 2012 at selected test centres across 33 cities.

According to a press statement from Prometric, all eligible candidates need to purchase an information bulletin-cum-examination fee voucher from selected Axis Bank branches before registering for, and scheduling their tests online. The self-service, online registration and scheduling website offers candidates the convenience and flexibility of selecting their preferred location, date and time for their test. While registration and scheduling will remain open until November 12, 2012, voucher sales will continue till November 10, 2012.
